To achieve the most natural results, Scalp Micropigmenatation should never be considered a one and done treatment process. Most clients on average can expect between 2-3 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss or scarring. In more extreme cases some clients may require a 4th session. The first 2 sessions are spaced out between 7-12 days with the 3rd session typically coming into play anywhere from 2-6 months down the line.

The results are permanent, after completion of your treatment a client should expect the strength of the pigment to last for many years. Over a longer period of time, a client will gradually begin to notice slight lightening (not discolor) of the treatment. When this occurs clients undergo a quick “touch up” session to refresh and restore their treatment back to the desired state. Protecting SMP from sun exposure using SPF50 or a hat will prolong the lightening of the treatment.

Scalp Micropigmentation has become the #1 hair loss solution because of it’s natural and undetectable results. Most people including family and friends can’t tell the difference between natural hair follicles and SMP follicles. Magic Ink SMP prides itself on the ability to provide a natural and realistic result for each client that will not be questioned by the untrained eye.

Yes, Scalp Micro-Pigmentation is an excellent alternative to wigs, surgeries, or products that promise to thicken or re-grow your hair that never work. SMP cosmetically re-creates natural looking hair follicle on the scalp that add a fuller and denser look to thin hair. The results are immediate and you will leave from your 1st session with fuller hair and a renewed confidence.

Scalp Micro-Pigmentation is non invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After each session it is common to notice slight redness of the scalp which will subside in 24-48 hours. Clients can also wear hats right away should they feel the need to.

Depending on the extent of hair loss and pattern, some clients are able to maintain a longer length of hair. SMP can help thicken areas so that less of the scalp is visible. However, if there is a strong pattern of hair loss or just not enough hair left to pull of any length the client would have to commit to cutting it shorter. Being that hair is 3D and SMP is 2D the shorter the remaining hair is the better it will blend in depending on the individuals severity of hair loss.

If you are unsure of what type of hairline or style will suit you, our practitioners will be there to help. There is a way to determine where your hairline should be at this stage of your age, in order to create a natural and satisfying result. Over the course of your sessions you can also decide to adjust the hairline for a perfect result and complete satisfaction.

When this is done gray hair does not appear as gray because the hair root itself is darker. The hair strand is what turns gray which is only visible when the hair is longer. Secondly, we use a colo scale to match the pigment by diluting it with sterilized water in order to match match your remaining hair follicles which creates a perfect blend.
